Feria de Sevilla/ The Seville Fair (April 23-29)

On the way to the Fair, Encarni realized she needed new shoes. So we stopped in a shoe store. On the way to the Fair.

This is the "Portada de la Feria", the doorway. They put this up new every year, each time with a new design. They are still disassembling it.

Here we're in a "caseta", a tent-like location with its own bar/restaurant. There are dozens of casetas, and most are private and you have to know someone to get in.

Our friend Elena was able to invite us into hers.

Thomas, myself, and David.

Encarni and Elena dancing "Sevillanas", a traditional type of Flamenco dancing.

New day, new dress.

Encarni, Thomas and I decided to ride the Ferris Wheel.

View from our Ferris Wheel.

The many faces of Encarni on the Ferris Wheel!

Like state fairs and carnivals, there are games where people can win prizes. I found the basketball shoot. For 2 euros you got two shots, and had to make both to win a prize.

I made my first two, and won a bear for my girl.

Me, Encarni, and the bear. Everyone's happy.

Last thing we did at the Fair: enjoying Churros con chocolate. Churros are similar to funnel cake, but you dip them in warm, thick dark chocolate.
